FAQ:

Application:

Isobutylbenzene (CAS: 538-93-2) is used for organic synthesis, used as a high-boiling solvent, an intermediate for perfumery and basic raw material for manufacturing analgesic anti-inflammatory (Ibuprofen). Also used in the production of coatings, plasticizers, surfactants, can also be used as a solvent. Isobutylbenzene is used as a reagent in the synthesis of 1,1-Bis(p-isobutylphenyl)ethane (B448875); an impurity in the synthesis of Ibuprofen. Also a reagent in the synthesis of quinoline-substituted furanone derivatives as selective falcipain-2 inhibitors. Isobutylbenzene Hazard: Moderate fire risk. Toxic in high concentration, a skin and eye irritant.
